Palace Theater, Waterbury, CT: September 24, 1972

So I thought it was pretty cool that the powers that be selected a stateside show for inclusion on the upcoming 30 Trips Around the Sun box set. Although it’s probably not too surprising, as the Europe shows have been pretty well documented and highlighted up till now.

However, not necessarily given its due over the years was this show from Waterbury, CT from September 24th. Even the best soundboard I could locate still had some anomalies, patches, dropouts, etc. But still some superlative moments from a superlative year of live shows. So for this week’s installment of The Dead Zone, we picked out selected songs throughout the show. “Bird Song” and Jack Straw” from Set 1, “Dark Star” and “Sugar Magnolia” from Set 2.

Whole show streamable below, patches and all. Enjoy!
